Colin Suvak – Relevance of the University of Michigan’s Consumer Sentiment Index in Optimal Portfolio Composition



Collectively, how we feel about our own personal financial situation has as much to do with the growth (or not) of the broader economy as anything else.  The University of Michigan attempts to quantify our views through a survey which culminates in the Consumer Sentiment Index.  Continuing his research into economic factors and their influence on investor choices, Colin Suvak analyzes whether the index is helpful in creating a portfolio.
